Couldyou please translate the first 4 lines:

"maalikul mulk......illa huu"

and the next 4 lines:

"Kaunain....hai tuu"

You have included 4 lines in English after the above stanzas. To which 4 lines in original do they refer? Please translate the remaining 4 (i.e. not translated by the 4 lines of English which follow after 8 lines of poetry). Thank you. Allah Hu is one my favourites and I want to understand each word properly.

maalikul mulk laa shariikaa lahuu
vaahdahuu laa ilaaha illaa huu
Shams Tabrez gar Khudaa talaabii
khusbuukhaaN laa ilaa illa huu
-----
Backgrounder: Allah has no "shareek" or equal, is one (wahid, Vahad) and not of parts. "Laa" means without or sans. So "laa ilaaha ilaa hu" means no god but God. "Hu" is an article meaning "is".

Shams Tabrez is the patron saint of Sufis, also the teacher of the more well known Rumi, lived in the 13th century in Turkey, Iran, also travelled to Pakistan. The verse is referring to the "khuda talabi" or God-seeking of Shams. Khushbukhwaan is a spreader of "khusboo" or essence or flowers, and that is none other than the One God.

This is a Humd(Praising Allah or God)

Ustad's rendition is always flawless
