Ali Maula, Ali Maula
Ali imaam-e-manasto manam Ghulaam-e-Ali
hazaar jaan-e-giraamii fidaa-e-naam-e-Ali
Ali is the master of all, I am the slave of Ali
a thousand lives are to be sacrificed for Ali
Note: Ali was the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad. He is especially revered by the Sufi mystics.

I am the dog of the streets of God’s lion.
kabhii diivaar hiltii hai, kabhii dar kaaNp jaataa hai
Ali kaa naam sun kar ab bhii Khaibar kaaNp jaataa hai
Sometimes the wall shakes, sometimes trembles the door
on listening the name of Ali, the fort of Khaibar trembles even now.
Note: During the fight for the Fort of Khaibar, Ali rooted out the heavy door of the fort and used it as his shield.

This is the name that removes suffering

Without the love of Ali, desire is not fulfilled
not even the prayers are answered.
O! slaves of God listen carefully, by God!
One who does not realizes Ali does not realize God.

Don’t search for anything now, match the eternal search
match the footprints of the desired destination with guide
to get Ali is like getting a house of God
searching for God too, we found Him in Ali’s house.

The sight of Ali in itself is prayer, so said the Prophet
Ali is the soul, body and life of the Prophet
Ali is the purified flower
Ali is the sword of the truth
Ali is the saint of the saints.

Dear Friend,
You clearly are very well versed in Urdu, but in my humble opinion your transliteration and translation of the Farsi lines “Haidariam qalandaram mastam” etc. is somewhat inacurate. May I therefore suggest my own translation of these verses, which were originally composed by Hazrat Sharafuddin Bu Ali Shah Qalandar of Panipat in the 13th Century CE:
“I belong to Haydar [an Arabic epithet of Hazrat Ali meaning "Lion of God"]
I am an intoxicated ecstatic qalandar [qalandars are wandering dervishes who pay little or no heed to religious and social conventions; some of them are attached to a Tariqat, but many are not]
I am a slave of Ali the Chosen One
I am the leader of all the drunkards [peshvaa-e tamaam rindaanam - "rindaan" is the term used for those Sufis who engage in practices which induce mystical intoxication]
As I am a dog in the street of the Lion of God” ["Sher-e Yazdaan" is Persian for "Lion of God"].
In addition to the above, I also would like to include a little note on the phrase “Shaah-e Mardaan”: it does mean “the King of Men” or “the King of Brave Men”, as “mardaan” is the plural of “mard”, the Farsi word for “man”. However, in Farsi, “mardaan” has a specific connotation when used in a spiritual context; then it means “men of God” or “people devoted to God”. As such, “mardaan” may also include women, not only men. This was taught to me by my own Pir.
Salaam to all!

Few more pointers
Haydar actually means Warrior (Imam Ali’s complete title is Haydar e Karar which means a warrior who has no match ie no human can defeat Ali)
ASADULLAH means the Lion of Allah the actual title
I am curious how comes the last portion is not translated from dast-e-ilaa and onwards.

Salam Brother,
I agree with brother wazir, but the part about Peshewae Tamam rinda nam is again inaccurate and also the verse that follows it. K sagee koi sher e yazdanam.
In these two verse’s he is comparing himself.
peshvaa-e-tamaam rinda naam
ke sage kuu-e-sher-e-yazdaanam
I am higher than any great name you can imagine
Yet, I am nothing compared to the dog that lives on Lion of God’s (Ali’s) Street.
Also, Shah e Mardan, means “King of Mankind”.

I sort of dont understand the first two lines of the last part which is not translated but i understand the rest of that phrase… I’ll still try to give a whole translation
(dast-e-ilaa) (door of god?) why not be the lion of God.
maqsud har ataa hai ? king of brave is ali
Like the progeny of prophet Muhammad is one and (unmatchable, no example can be given of it)
There is none borne nor will, Like Ali
These 5 are indeed the reason of creation
Khairunnisaa (Hazarat Bibi Fatima, prophet’s daughter), Hasan (Hazrat Ali’s son through Fatima), Hussain (Hazrat Ali’s second son through Fatima), Mustafa (Prophet Muhammad), Ali

Salams to all,
I have to say that the is also one of my favorite qawallis. I love Imam Ali A.S. very much, and to hear him praised like this, makes me even prouder. I am proud to say that I am a shia, and very strongly believe in the twelve Imams. The transalation to the qawalli only proves the importance of hazrat Ali A.S.

salam all
i just wanted to note a few things haidar is one of the lions names in arabic and karar dosent mean invinsible it means that he attacks and never flee’s which was arabs way of war in those days hence the title karar not farar meaning attacker never fleeing and the door of khaibar he didnt not use as a shield but at the time of that war the khaibar wall was invinsible and it took 40 men to open 1 door of the wall but imam ali opened it with 1 hand just to clear things and keep this site up

Dont Search for anything now , keep your eye on the eternal search .
Your goal your ultimate aim should be eying the Guide (Ofcourse Ali (QWK))
We got Ali (QWK) from the House of Allah (Kaba) He was born in Kaba Tullah .
We searched for Allah and we got Allah from the House of Ali ( Ahle Bayt) .

Beautiful, thankyou for the translation, and to all the people who given their opinions on corrections.
I have on question though, just an observation rather.
” kabhii diivaar hiltii hai, kabhii dar kaaNp jaataa hai
Ali kaa naam sun kar ab bhii Khaibar kaaNp jaataa hai
Sometimes the wall shakes, sometimes trembles the door
on listening the name of Ali, the fort of Khaibar trembles even now ”
Shudnt ‘ kabhii dar kaaNp jaataa hai ‘ translate to
‘ Sometimes even FEAR itself trembles ‘
- thnx again
